Practice Makes Perfect
Nine-year-old Ramon is a wonderful example of how teaching children good dental hygiene can truly make a difference. Ramon was a repeat visitor to our Mobile Dental Clinic. When he came to our fall 2023 clinic, he needed extensive dental work—ten cavities, a baby tooth root canal, and a tooth extraction. That’s a daunting amount of dental work for anyone, let alone a young child.
But this year, Ramon returned with a beaming smile, and it was clear why. All his previous dental work was in excellent condition, and he only needed one small sealant on a molar. Dr. Sunny, the director of our Mobile Dental Clinic, even commented that his dental work looked better than she’d seen in private practice! The best part? Ramon had been working hard to take care of his teeth, keeping them cavity-free and his smile bright.
Ramon’s story is a testament to the resilience of children and the power of providing education and care. With the right support, kids like Ramon can overcome challenges and build habits that will benefit them for a lifetime.
